Why This Course?

Do you have employees behind the front line who provide services supporting retirement counselors or other services, such as bank staff, mutual fund back office employees, or call center representatives? Training them on key retirement investments can go a long way in helping them better serve your clients, be more productive, and increase retirement assets under management.

The role of investments in retirement is twofold: an investment portfolio as well as a source of income. Beginning with a basic understanding of how the various asset classes and the diverse investments contained within in them work, this course focuses on the application of investments to the goal of retirement across the life cycle.

For a retirement program to work as envisioned, retirement professionals must thoroughly understand the basic concepts and terminology needed to help clients/participants/employees invest wisely for their long-term retirement goals. In this course, you'll gain familiarity with investment concepts that are critical to effective retirement counseling. Emphasis is on training the retirement counselor to assist clients/participants in feeling comfortable with the investment decisions that must be made to achieve a financially worry-free retirement. The course includes a discussion of how to present the information in the course to clients/participants.

Who Should Participate?

The course was designed for individuals with little or no experience in investments who will receive a broad overview of investments and be able to compare and contrast them as well as understand their use in specific retirement planning situations.
