Stage 4 - Employers
Our continuing education programs for your public sector retirement professionals and licensable member retirement education are considered the best in the industry.
Our education and training philosophy:
• Financial planning education is a subset of retirement planning, not the other way around as believed by most financial planners
• There are important financial and retirement planning knowledge and preparation actions necessary at each career stage in order for employees to become retirement ready
• The majority of workers have access to what they need at the worksite through their employee benefit plans to establish their financial and retirement plan foundation. Helping them take a retirement-planning approach toward better using their retirement and other employee benefits can substantially improve their retirement preparedness.
• As knowing how to save and how to invest are critical for accumulating assets, knowing when you can really afford to retire and how to manage retirement income and risks are critical for employees ages 50 and over.
• Effective education focuses not just on what people need to know, but also what they need to do to secure their financial futures by providing post-program action plans and worksheets
• Application-oriented, hands-on workshops with post-program action plans and worksheets are far superior in results to instructor-dependent, lecture-based seminars, print materials, or asynchronous (by self) online learning experiences
Based on what we know about learning styles:
1. 28-32% strongly prefer to be with other people when they learn and most likely will not utilize self-study materials (do-it-with-me)
2. 50% prefer for decisions to be automated (auto enrollment, deferral, asset allocation; do-it-for-me)
3. only 15-20% of your employees are self-motivated enough to learn from print and online courses (do-it-by-myself)
Therefore, a strong series of live classroom courses are the foundation to any effective retirement and financial education program.
